McEnies Seals Agreement with FCDO and UK Met Office to Develop Communication Plan for Flood-Prone Nigerian Communities

McEnies Global Communications has recently finalized an agreement with the UK Met Office to enhance communication strategies regarding weather information and develop effective plans to tackle the persistent issue of flooding in Nigeria.

Supported by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the project will involve the collaboration of various relevant government bodies such as NIMET, NASRDA, NIHSA, NEMA, and others. Additionally, the initiative will incorporate comprehensive desk-based research and consultations.

The joint effort aims to create enhanced communication protocols and products to effectively reach the most flood-prone states and communities in Nigeria, including Bayelsa, Lagos, Kebbi, Oyo, Kogi, and more, enabling them to make informed decisions that can significantly impact their livelihoods.

Scheduled to run for a period of 6 months, the project will encompass all 36 states of Nigeria, along with the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Throughout this timeframe, McEnies Global Communications will play a crucial role in coordinating with local media channels in Nigeria, engaging in rigorous high-level discussions with government representatives and pivotal agencies to ensure the success of the project.

McEnies Global Communications, a Nigerian company recognized for its extensive expertise in strategic, integrated marketing services, and digital marketing, secured this partnership with FCDO and the UK Met Office in September 2023, as confirmed by the company.

The Met Office, renowned as the United Kingdom’s national weather service and an executive agency and trading fund of the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology, is highly regarded for its meteorological forecasts across various timeframes, from short-term weather predictions to long-term climate change projections.
