US Senator Chuck Schumer stated that a plan to outlaw TikTok in the US “should be looked at.”
“We are aware that the corporation that controls TikTok is owned by Chinese individuals. In the past, the business has stated that it appreciates “the chance to clear the air regarding TikTok, ByteDance, and the promises we are making.”
The TikTok representative continued, “We hope that by disclosing specifics of our comprehensive plans to the full Committee, Congress may take a more deliberate approach to the issues at hand.
